The CEO Leadership Alliance Orange County facilitates a variety of talent development initiatives on behalf of its member companies, ranging from Career Exploration Experiences, pre-internships and internships.  Our goal is to introduce and invite community college and university students to consider a career in our region. Experiences are custom-designed with our member companies, and include an introduction to the organization’s mission, values, work culture and careers.  Additionally, participants gain practical work experience as they work on a short-term project, while earning a competitive wage.

About the Micro-Internship at City of Hope

This micro-internship is tailored for those exploring oncology pharmatech, highlighting the pivotal role of formulary research.  Your research project will focus on the evaluation of cancer medications, encompassing an analysis of clinical data, the balance between cost and benefits, safety considerations, and the effectiveness of these drugs compared to existing treatments. Participants will gain hands-on experience in the methodologies used to appraise and choose oncology medications for inclusion in a formulary—a curated list of drugs sanctioned for use across healthcare facilities, hospitals, or insurance schemes. Understanding the role of research is critical to developing treatment regimens that are not only cutting-edge but also accessible and tailored to meet the evolving needs of cancer care.

Running from June 10th to July 18th, 2024, this 6 week full time internship will occur Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm onsite in Irvine, with salary details to be finalized. The program includes mentorship in various departments, highlighting the significance of adaptability, teamwork, and communication. Note that arrangements and salaries might be adjusted, with job offers contingent on passing criminal background checks.

Requirements

Applicants must be currently enrolled at the time of application in a college PharmaTech program from UCI, CSUF, Chapman University or Orange County community college programs. Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; City of Hope will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunities. Additional requirements (including a medical clearance) may be included in the onboarding process.

Evolus Micro-Internship

Evolus is on a hybrid schedule – Mondays & Fridays remote, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays onsite at our Newport Beach Headquarters.  Business hours are between 8am and 5pm PST for a total of 40 hours.  

Evolus will host 30 hours of activities and CLAOC will host 10 hours of CLAOC facilitated activities and workshops.  

Rotational hybrid experience for 5 OC-based college students from an accredited college.

About the Evolus Micro-Internship 

This cutting-edge paid micro internship experience presents a remarkable opportunity at Evolus, a trailblazer in the aesthetic beauty industry, particularly appealing to university students eager to delve into a career that blends creativity with scientific innovation. The program encourages participants to explore key areas of Evolus such as Research & Development, Medical Affairs, Human Resources, Finance, IT, Customer Experience and Data Engineering.  Students will collaborate closely with industry experts, contributing to projects that propel Evolus’ mission forward, while gaining a deep dive into the roles that drive the company’s success.

This immersive experience is designed to connect academic learning with real-world application, offering insights into Evolus’ approach to market disruption, product excellence, and a culture rooted in innovation and impact. By the end of the micro-internship, participants will not only gain comprehensive experience but also an understanding of the aesthetics market, poised to shape the future of beauty marketing.

The micro-internship runs from June 17th to July 26th, 2024, offering a stipend of $500 for a part-time schedule that spans 1 to 2 days per week for 2-3 hours.  This hands-on, hybrid experience at Evolus promises to be a stepping stone for students looking to make a significant impact in the fast-evolving beauty industry, and to apply for future internship positions within the company.

About the Evolus Internship

During the experience, upper division university students will be introduced to career opportunities within the performance and aesthetics industry. At Evolus, you have the opportunity to bring innovation and a forward-thinking mindset to create an impact.  Evolus is customer-centric, always, and believes that integrity and a team-driven environment connect entrepreneurial minds.

Interns will also be given the opportunity to work alongside a mentor in one of the following departments, where they will develop a project aimed at addressing specific business requirements:

        • Medical Affairs: The Medical Affairs team ensures the safety, efficacy and credibility of our products, focusing on the scientific and medical aspects of Evolus. Partnering with our Operations & Events Manager, this student will be able to touch various parts of Medical Affairs, from clinical research to education and training.
        • Customer Experience: The Customer Experience team touches on the overall journey and interactions that customers have with the brand, products and services throughout their purchasing process and beyond. Partnering with our Sr. Manager of Customer Experience, this student will learn about the customer journey and help streamline a more efficient process for the team.
        • Data Engineering: The Data Engineering team leverages data to drive insights, personalize customer experiences and enhance our operational efficiency. Partnering with our Executive Director of Engineering, this student will help design, prototype, test and launch their project (code, customer deliverables, or front-end/backend development).
        • Consumer Marketing: The Consumer Marketing team drives brand awareness and social media strategy, ensuring high-impact content across platforms. Partnering with the Executive Director of Consumer Marketing, this student will touch on various aspects of our social media strategy, event marketing and communications.
        • Global Insights & Analytics: The Global Insights & Analytics team directly supports Marketing and Sales, leveraging data and analytics to help power Evolus’ growth. This student, in partnership with our Manager of Forecasting & Commercial Analytics, will assist with predictive analytics and forecasting-related projects to inform overall business growth strategies.
        • Corporate Development: Corporate Development identifies, assesses and executes business development opportunities for strategic development, licensing, mergers and/or acquisitions. Partnering with the Executive Director of Corporate Development, this student will help design and implement a “stage-gate” process for our corporate development pipeline, conduct market research and new product and/or market evaluations.

The micro-internship is scheduled from June 17th to July 26th, 2024, providing a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16 to $23, based on the role. Time commitment may vary based on the function the intern is assigned to, but generally will be between 24-40 hours/week. About GSF’s Corporate Leadership Development Internship Program

This innovative 144-hour paid internship offers a “Golden Opportunity” at Golden State Foods (GSF), a leading light in Orange County’s vibrant food service sector. Dubbed the golden gateway to practical experience, this program invites interns to navigate through core departments of Business, HR, Accounting, IT, Communications, and Legal. Students will engage with field experts, contribute to projects supporting GSF’s leadership, and immerse themselves in the multifaceted roles within the company. This opportunity allows participants to bridge their academic knowledge with practical skills, gaining insights into the company’s global operations, commitment to quality and innovation, and its values-driven culture. About the Micro-Internship

In this program, students will learn how to apply geospatial AI and machine learning to create dashboards to manage smart cities. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, students will actively participate in county-level data collection, management, and analytics while gaining insights into how AI is revolutionizing fields like surveying, spatial mapping, and the creation of digital twins.  Mentors from the Digital Twin team will provide training and support during the experience. 

This comprehensive training is a multifaceted, blending of asynchronous online modules, in-class sessions at OCPW  and fieldwork. Students will learn cutting-edge tools such as Total Station, LiDAR, and other positioning system devices and develop proficiency in drone reality capture, flight design, and execution. 

Students will be onsite two days a week at either OCPW’s Glassell campus or County Administration South (CAS) building.

In this program, interns will work with the creative team on a project, learn what it’s like to work at Roadtrip Nation, and gain a better understanding about a variety of careers in the creative and business fields. About the Paralegal Internship
This dynamic 144 hour paid micro internship experience is designed to offer the participant a hands-on, immersive introduction to the paralegal profession supporting corporate and litigation attorneys. During the experience, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about a variety of roles, and to apply your theoretical knowledge, develop your skills and gain a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations within a paralegal department. By the end of the program, participants will have gained valuable practical experience, enhancing their readiness for the paralegal profession.

This is a part-time program beginning Monday, June 10th through Thursday, July 18th, 2024. The anticipated work schedule is 3 days per week, in-person. The salary wage range for this position is from $20 – $25 per hour and represents Stradling’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of base salary at the time of posting. The actual salary offered may vary based on experience, qualifications or other relevant factors. Work arrangements could change based on environment and business needs. All offers will be contingent upon the completion of satisfactory criminal background checks.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an ABA-Approved Paralegal Degree or Certificate Program and must remain enrolled as a student for the duration of the micro-internship. In this program, interns will complete a practical team design project to gain a better understanding of the design process, learn about what it’s like to work at Ware Malcomb, and discover different career paths within the Design/Architecture/Engineering Industry. Mentors from Architecture and Civil Engineering will provide training and support during the experience. Open to students with beginning or intermediate design skills.
